Quick Summary
Introduction
Want to apply for bank of baroda credit analyst recruitment in 2026 but confused about age, qualification and experience rules? You are not alone. Most rejections in this specialist hiring happen not in the test, but at the document check stage.
Bank of Baroda hires Credit Analysts for its Corporate and Institutional Credit department in three grades: Manager, Senior Manager and Chief Manager. Each grade has a fixed age band, mandatory finance qualification and minimum credit experience slab. The recent 50 vacancy drive for 2025 and 86 vacancy drive for 2026 followed the same pattern, with 3 years experience for Manager, 6 years for Senior Manager and 8 years for Chief Manager.
This guide explains BOB Credit Analyst Eligibility 2026 in simple language. You will learn the vacancy position, qualification rules for CA, MBA and CFA, grade-wise experience needed, age limit with category relaxation, and documents that prove credit experience.
Vacancy and Notification
Bank of Baroda is a government bank. It is a public sector bank owned by the Government of India, with around 64 percent government share. It hires specialists on a regular basis for its Corporate and Institutional Credit department. This department handles large company loans, credit appraisal and relationship work.
Recent drives show the hiring pattern clearly:
- In October 2025, the bank announced 50 backlog vacancies for Credit Analyst and Relationship Manager posts. The breakup was 1 Manager Credit Analyst, 25 Senior Manager Credit Analyst, 2 Chief Manager Credit Analyst, 16 Senior Manager Relationship Manager and 6 Chief Manager Relationship Manager.
- In June 2026, the bank announced 86 vacancies in the same department. Senior Manager Credit Analyst had the largest share with 38 posts.
For 2026 aspirants, the key learning is simple. Manager grade has very few seats. Senior Manager grade has the highest number of seats. So most candidates target the Senior Manager level if they have 6 years of experience.
Selection usually has four steps: shortlisting of applications, online test, psychometric test or group discussion, and personal interview. The online test has Reasoning, English, Quantitative Aptitude and Professional Knowledge. Professional Knowledge carries the highest marks, with focus on financial statement analysis, CMA data, ratio analysis and credit risk.
Note: The bank counts age, qualification and experience only as on the cutoff date given in the official notification. For the October 2025 drive it was 1 October 2025. For the June 2026 drive it was 1 June 2026. Always check the cutoff date in your notification.

Qualification for Analyst
Qualification for BOB Credit Analyst is the same for all three grades. Only the experience changes by grade. You must meet both parts: graduation and a finance specialization.
Mandatory rule:
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, plus
- Post Graduate Degree or Diploma with specialization in Finance or equivalent to Finance, OR
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or CMA (Cost and Management Accountant) or CS (Company Secretary) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
Important points to note:
- The degree must be from a college or university recognized by the Government of India or AICTE.
- The date on your marksheet or provisional certificate is treated as your date of passing.
- An MBA in Finance, PGDM in Finance or equivalent finance specialization is accepted. A general MBA without finance specialization may create problems at document verification.
- CA, CMA, CS and CFA are accepted even without a separate PG degree, because the notification lists them as an alternative path.
What about final year students?
Final year students cannot apply unless their final result is declared on or before the cutoff date. The bank asks for proof of passing. If your result comes after the cutoff date, you are not eligible for that cycle.
Skills the bank expects
The notification lists job skills like analysis of financial statements and CMA, risk assessment, data interpretation and credit due diligence. CMA here means Credit Monitoring Arrangement, which is a format banks use to study a company loan proposal. Ratio analysis means checking profit, liquidity and loan repayment capacity using company balance sheets. You do not need to submit proof of these skills separately, but the interview panel tests them deeply.
Experience Needed
Experience is post qualification experience. This means only work done after you complete the required qualification is counted. Experience in clerical cadre is not counted.
| Post and Grade | Minimum Experience Needed |
|---|---|
| Manager Credit Analyst, MMGS-II | Minimum 3 years work experience in Credit in any Public, Private or Foreign Bank or NBFC in India |
| Senior Manager Credit Analyst, MMGS-III | Minimum 6 years experience in Credit in any Public, Private or Foreign Bank or Financial Institution in India |
| Chief Manager Credit Analyst, SMGS-IV | Minimum 8 years experience in any Bank, with at least 5 years exposure in Credit Appraisal or Processing in Large or Mid Corporate Credit |
What these terms mean in simple words:
- Credit experience means work in loan appraisal, credit processing, credit monitoring or credit risk. Sales only or back office work without credit linkage is risky to claim.
- Large or Mid Corporate Credit for Chief Manager means handling big company loan files, not only retail loans or small business loans. The bank specifically asks for 5 years in this area.
- NBFC means Non Banking Financial Company, like a finance company that gives loans but is not a bank. NBFC experience is accepted for Manager grade, but Senior and Chief Manager grades ask for Bank or Financial Institution experience.
- Work of less than six months in any organization is not counted, unless it is part of your current job.
Many candidates ask about Bank of Baroda vs SBI for specialist roles. Both are public sector banks with similar pay scales and transferable postings. The main difference is that BOB Credit Analyst hiring is direct lateral hiring with heavy weight on corporate credit files, while SBI also hires many freshers through PO and SO exams. Choose based on your experience level and posting comfort.
Age Limit and Relaxation
BOB Credit Analyst Age Limit 2026 is fixed by grade. The limits below are for General category. Relaxation is added on the upper limit for reserved groups.
| Post and Grade | Minimum Age | Maximum Age |

| Senior Manager Credit Analyst, MMGS-III | 28 years | 35 years |

Key rules to remember:

Other groups need an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.
Documents That Prove Credit
Vague certificates are the most common reason for rejection. The bank checks every claim at the interview stage and can reject even after selection if papers are weak.
Keep these documents ready:
- Date of birth proof: Class 10 marksheet or birth certificate
- Graduation and PG or CA, CMA, CS, CFA mark sheets and final degree certificates, all semesters in one file
- Experience proof: appointment letter, relieving letter, salary slips and CTC breakup for each employer. The letter must clearly mention designation, period and credit related duties
- Photo ID: PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID or Aadhaar
- Caste certificate in Government of India format for SC, ST and OBC. OBC certificate must have the Non Creamy Layer clause and should be recent as asked in the notification
- EWS Income and Asset Certificate, disability certificate or ex servicemen discharge book, if applicable
- No Objection Certificate if you work in Government, public sector bank or public undertaking
- Updated resume
Three special checks for this recruitment:
- CIBIL score: You need a minimum CIBIL score of 680 at the time of joining. CIBIL score is a number that shows your loan repayment record. Any loan default, credit card default or adverse report can lead to rejection, even after the interview.
- Credit history verification: The bank can check your credit profile at any stage, including after joining. Keep your repayments clean before applying.
- Pay slip and CTC proof: The bank asks for salary slips and CTC breakup at the time of online application to verify that your experience is genuine and full time.
Pro Tip: Ask your HR to write your role clearly, for example “Credit Analyst, Corporate Credit, handling credit appraisal and monitoring of mid corporate proposals from June 2021 to May 2024.” A letter that only says “worked as officer” without credit duties is often rejected.
