Office Assistant (Multipurpose) State Wise Vacancy

Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank leads with the highest 1200 Office Assistant vacancies, followed closely by Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank at 900 and Telangana Grameena Bank at 750. Manipur has reported no vacancies this year. Tripura Gramin Bank added 39 Office Assistant posts in the revised Annexure I dated 09 September 2026.

Officer Scale I State Wise Vacancy

For Officer Scale I, Gujarat Gramin Bank is the top recruiter with 600 posts, ahead of Uttar Pradesh at 425 and Andhra Pradesh at 400. Interestingly, Gujarat ranks much higher for officer posts than for clerical posts, which makes it a strong state for aspiring officers.

Apply to high vacancy states if you are flexible about location. More vacancies mean more candidates qualify, and the cutoff pressure is usually lower than the number of applicants suggests. Check the local language requirement before you choose. Every RRB requires proficiency in its state’s language. If you studied that language in Class 8 or above, you are eligible. If not, you still get six months after joining to learn it. But the practical reality is that you will serve customers in that language, so choosing a state whose language you already know makes your work life much easier. For example, a Hindi speaker can comfortably apply to UP, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Himachal or Uttarakhand. A Telugu speaker should target Andhra or Telangana. A Bengali speaker should aim for West Bengal or Tripura.

Avoid states with very high cutoffs unless you are a strong scorer. Haryana and Himachal Pradesh have consistently high cutoffs for both Office Assistant and Officer Scale I. If you are confident of scoring above 75 in the Mains, these states are fine. Otherwise, the higher vacancy states in the Hindi belt give you a better safety margin.
