Introduction

The IBPS RRB vacancy 2026 now stands revised at 13,757 posts across 28 Regional Rural Banks under CRP RRBs XV. IBPS released the updated Annexure I on 25 September 2026 on ibps.in, adding 12 posts to the earlier 13,745 total.

This is good news if you have already applied, and also useful if you are tracking RRB PO vacancies and RRB clerk vacancies for cutoff and state selection. The increase is small but focused. It affects only Officer Scale II specialist posts, while Office Assistant and Officer Scale I numbers stay unchanged.

This short update explains what changed, the revised post wise breakup, and what it means for your preparation. For full dates, eligibility and exam pattern, read our IBPS RRB Notification 2026 hub.

What Changed in Revision?

The IBPS RRB vacancy update of 25 September 2026 raised the total from 13,745 to 13,757 posts. IBPS published this change through revised Annexure I on ibps.in under CRP RRBs XV. The figures are indicative, which means banks reported final needs and IBPS updated the list.

This is the second revision in this cycle. IBPS first notified 13,706 posts on 01 September 2026. It then revised the total to 13,745 posts on 09 September 2026 after adding 39 Office Assistant posts for Tripura Gramin Bank. The latest revision adds 12 Officer Scale II specialist posts.

Revised Post Wise Breakup

The IBPS RRB vacancy 2026 breakup now totals 13,757 posts. Office Assistant holds 8,222 posts and Officer Scale I holds 4,256 posts. Both counts are unchanged in this revision. The full 12 post increase sits inside Officer Scale II specialist categories.

Three points matter here. First, Officer Scale II Law gained the most, rising from 46 to 56 posts. Second, Officer Scale II CA moved from 81 to 82, and Treasury Manager moved from 18 to 19. Third, RRB PO vacancies (Officer Scale I) and RRB clerk vacancies (Office Assistant) did not change.

If you want the complete bank wise and state wise distribution for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I, plus previous year cutoff comparison, refer to our IBPS RRB Vacancy 2026 State Wise Guide. That guide is the canonical source for state tables, so this update does not repeat those tables.

Why Vacancies Are Revised?

IBPS collects vacancy needs from 28 Regional Rural Banks spread across states and union territories. Each Gramin Bank reports its own requirement for Office Assistant, Officer Scale I, Scale II and Scale III. When a bank corrects its indent or adds a specialist need, IBPS issues a revised Annexure I.

That is what happened on 25 September 2026. The revision touched only specialist streams where banks need professional qualifications with experience, such as Law, Chartered Accountant and Treasury. Generalist posts were left untouched.

Two reminders follow from this. First, treat every IBPS RRB vacancy list as indicative till provisional allotment. Second, always verify from the latest Annexure I on ibps.in before you freeze your state choice.

What This Means for You?

For most aspirants, this IBPS RRB vacancy update changes nothing in strategy. Office Assistant and Officer Scale I form 12,478 of the 13,757 posts, or about 91 percent of the total. Their numbers and competition level stay exactly as before.

The impact is limited to Officer Scale II specialist aspirants. Law has 10 extra posts, which slightly improves chances in that narrow pool. CA and Treasury each add one post, which is positive but too small to shift cutoffs on its own.

Do not expect lower cutoffs because of 12 extra posts. Cutoffs in Gramin Bank recruitment move mainly with exam difficulty, number of applicants and state wise competition. Use the extra posts as confidence, not as a reason to slow preparation.

If you are comparing Office Assistant and Officer Scale I for state selection, salary and career growth, read our IBPS RRB Salary Guide for in hand pay and allowances. For age limit, qualification and experience rules for Scale II specialist posts, refer to our IBPS RRB Eligibility Guide.
